"NHL to schedule a break for the 2022 Winter Olympics; player participation not yet guaranteed

The NHL's 2021-22 regular-season schedule will include a break for the Winter Olympics in Beijing, commissioner Gary Bettman said Wednesday.

The Olympic break is reportedly scheduled from Feb. 5 to Feb. 22, 2022. The schedule, which will be released Thursday, will include a caveat that NHL participation in the 2022 Winter Games isn't yet guaranteed.

"The Ottawa Senators announced today the team's seven-game 2021-22 pre-season schedule which includes three home games at Canadian Tire Centre and four road contests versus three different opponents.

The Senators will open the pre-season when the team travels to Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg to meet the Jets on Sunday, Sept. 26.
